Helen Taglini Obituary

Helen L. (Slattery) (Hill) Taglini Lowell native, Raytheon retiree, Navy vet; 81 HAINES CITY, FL Mrs. Helen L. (Slattery) (Hill) Taglini, of Haines City, Florida, formerly of Lowell, died June 4, 2008 in Florida, aged 81 years. She was the wife of Raymond Taglini. A United States Navy Veteran. Born in Lowell, MA, on May 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Florence (Stindorf) Slattery. She received her education in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1945. While attending high school, Helen was a baton twirler. After high school, she began working at the former A.G. Pollard in Lowell. Helen enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1953, and was assigned to the United States Naval Hospital in Chelsea, MA, serving as a physician's assistant. A recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Honorable discharged in January 1954. When she returned to Lowell, she began her career with for "MA Bell" (the telephone company) and worked as an operator for many years. She then joined the Raytheon Company, and worked as a telephone operator at that facility. Mrs. Taglini was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. Besides her loving husband Raymond, she is survived by a daughter, Debra Hill Mitchell and her husband, Roy of Texas; two grandchildren, Anthony M. Disario and John P. Remacle; and one great-grandson, Brayton Remacle. Her dear friends, Harold and Ruth Entwistle of Dracut, and Jean St. Pierre of Andover. TAGLINI Died in Florida, Mrs. Helen L. (Slattery)(Hill) Taglini, aged 81 years. Wife of Raymond Taglini. A United States Navy Veteran. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Blvd. at Chester and Harvard Sts., on Tuesday from 4 8 PM.
