Katherine Hevey Obituary

Katherine C. Hevey lived in Lowell for nine decades; 96 ROYALTON, VT Katherine C. Hevey, 96, died peacefully Wednesday evening, June 11th, at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., Vermont. She was born in Lowell, MA, on July 13, 1911, the daughter of Annie Holland McDonald and John McDonald, also of Lowell, MA. Katherine graduated from the Lowell School System, and was a Lowell resident for 92 years. She spent most of her working life as an Administrative Assistant in the Health Care industry in the Lowell area. In 2004, she moved to South Royalton, Vermont to reside with her daughter Martha Hevey Washburn and her husband Bruce. In 2005, she moved to the Woodstock Terraces Assisted Living until recently becoming a resident of the Brookside Nursing Home. Katherine is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Mulligan and her companion, Charles K. Speare of Dracut, MA, and Martha Hevey Washburn and her husband, Bruce G. Washburn of Royalton, VT. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Paula and her husband, Kenneth Pacquin of Nashua, NH, Karen E. Dow of Londonderry, NH, and Gary S. Mulligan of Dracut, MA; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is predeceased by her husband John "Bernie" B. Hevey, and a sister Helen M. Gath, also of Lowell, MA. HEVEY A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Woodstock, VT on Tuesday June 17th at 2:00 PM. A Catholic burial service will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery chapel in North Tewksbury, MA on Wednesday June 18th at 11:00 AM. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Dr., Lebanon, NH 03766 or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT 802-457-1222.
