Mary Cregg Obituary

Mary Jane Cregg of Dracut, born in Lowell; 71 DRACUT Mary Jane (Brydon) Cregg, 71, of Dracut, died Sunday evening in Saints Memorial Medical Center, Lowell. she was the longtime companion of the late Neil Dowd. Born in Lowell on November 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Helen (Grand) Brydon. She received her education in the Lowell school system. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Cregg had been employed for 24 years as a hostess by the former Speare House in Lowell. More recently she worked for SAC (Sports Athletic Club) in Lowell. An active member of SAC as well Mrs. Cregg enjoyed the social times at the club dancing, sporting events and fund raising. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, bowling and time spent in the company of her dear friends and family. Surviving her are four daughters and sons-in-law Debra and Joseph Rigon of Littleton, Donna and Carlo Noe of Lowell, Kathleen and John Gonsalves of Lowell and Carrie and Paul Dauteuil of Dracut; five grandchildren Alysha and Jonathan Rivera of Lowell, Amanda and Lauren Dauteuil of Dracut and Jenna Rigon of Littleton; two great grandchildren Jacob and Olivia Rivera of Lowell; the father of her children Eugene Cregg; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Eugene F. Cregg Jr and sister of the late Elizabeth R. Sigman and John Brydon. CREGG Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10AM in St Mary Magdalen Church, Dracut. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in her name to Elder Service of Merrimack Valley 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 5, Lawrence, MA 01843. To Aunt Mary and Family, I'll miss you auntie and will never forget you. The memories of our family cookouts and the yearly visit to the chalet in NH (I still don't know how we all fit in that small house :) will remain with me forever. Those were the best of times!
