Edwin Ings Obituary

Edwin J. Ings of Billerica; 79 Billerica age 79, husband of Lois (Macaulay) Ings died Tuesday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a brief illness. He was born in Belmont, February 6, 1929, son of the late Norman and Hilda (Back) Ings and lived in Watertown before moving to Billerica in 1952. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Edwin was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Burlington and Grace Chapel in Lexington. He worked as a Crossing Guard for the Town of Billerica. Besides his wife and daughter, he lived with his son-in-law, Lew and his grandson, Jonathan who became an Eagle Scout and is going to Wentworth Institute for which his grandfather was so proud. Besides his wife, Lois, Edwin is survived by his daughter, Karen (Ings) Ernst of Billerica and his son, Robert Ings also of Billerica. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Ings was the father of the late Kenneth Ings. INGS Of Billerica, June 17, Edwin J. Ings husband of Lois (Macaulay) Ings. Visiting hours will be held Sunday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2-6 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at the Fellowship Bible Church, 71 Center St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 2116. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Funeral Directors W.J. and Dean M. Laurendeau.
