Bernholdt R. Nystrom

Bernholdt R. Nystrom of The Villages, FL, and Ossipee, NH; 77 Ossipee, NH Bernholdt R. Nystrom, 77, of The Villages, FL, and Ossipee, NH, passed away suddenly Monday, June 16, 2008, in Ossipee, NH. He was born May 27, 1931, in Everett, MA, the son of the late Carl and Mabel (Anderson) Nystrom. His former wife, Jean Erickson, pre-deceased him in 1995, as well as his son Paul Eric Nystrom, who predeceased him in 1996. Bernholdt worked for 27 years at the Nashoba Valley Technical High School retiring as Superintendent in 1993. For a short period of time, he served as Superintendent for the Groton-Dunstable School system. He was a licensed builder who built several schools as well as numerous residential homes. Bernholdt was a member and past president of the Massachusetts Administrators Vocational Association, Littleton Finance committee, and Littleton Light and Water Commission. He was appointed trustee by three governors for the Massachusetts State Hospitals and belonged to several other organizations throughout his lifetime. His passions consisted of restoring his 1794 farm in Ossipee, N.H., cabinet making, trophy hunting, his sons and teaching classes in the building trades. He is survived by his wife, Cecile Pitts (Stefanski) Nystrom, two sons, Steven R. Nystrom and his wife, Hida, from Maynard, MA; Carl A. Nystrom and his wife, Lisa, from Pelham, NH, Patricia Stefanski of Merrimack, NH and Albert Stefanski Jr. of Chelmsford, MA, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grand sons as well as a brother, Richard and and his wife Christine Nystrom, of Dayton, OH.
