Joseph Cigliano Obituary

Joseph M. Cigliano Music Aficionado ; 60 West Hills, CA Joseph M. Cigliano, a resident of West Hills, California, died Wednesday, June 18 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Naples, Italy on December 19, 1947, and moved to Lowell in November 1955 with his parents, Angela and Corrado, and younger sister, Flavia. He grew up and attended Lowell schools. In 1969, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he attended the University of California at Berkeley. He also pursued a Ph.D. in economics while at Berkeley. Joe went on to work as an economist at several prestigious firms in the aerospace, electronic and specialty metals industries in New York City and Southern California. Joe was a music aficionado and also enjoyed photography, gardening and outdoor activities, such as hiking and fishing. He is survived by his wife Louise Lepley of West Hills, CA. Father, Corrado Cigliano; sister and brother-in- law Flavia Cigliano and William Killilea of Chelmsford; brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Jennifer (Loucraft) Cigliano of Lowell; sister and brother-in-law Sophia (Cigliano) Leahey and Brian Leahey of Lowell; nieces Angela Killilea of Chelmsford and Theresa, Francesca, and Sophia Rose Cigliano of Lowell. He is predeceased by his mother Angela (Esposito) Cigliano. Joe was a devoted parishioner of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles where he actively supported and assisted with the development of various musical programs. He was a former parishioner of Saint Margaret Church in Lowell. CIGLIANO A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels in Los Angeles, California. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cathedral Choir Fund: The Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, 555 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
