Elizabeth Bienvenue Obituary

Elizabeth F. Bienvenue lifelong resident of Lowell Lowell Mrs. Elizabeth F. (Lavoie) Bienvenue, age 84, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008, at her home in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Ernest L. Bienvenue, who died in 2002, to whom she was married for over 50 years. She was born in Lowell on February 16, 1924 a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Williams) Lavoie. Mrs. Bienvenue was a lifelong resident of Lowell and was a devout parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church. In her earlier years, she worked in the mills. When her children were of school age, she worked for Nylon Engineering, the Lowell School System as a Cafeteria Aide, and Dunkin Donuts at Church Street Plaza, all prior to her retirement. According to the family, Betty was an avid bingo player and enjoyed many laughs and good-times with her many friends at various local Senior's Centers, and area parish bingo events. A devoted wife and mother, she was also an avid supporter for research for the cure of Cystic Fibrosis. She is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon M. Lamprey of Maine, Patricia D. Christoun of Lowell and Denise M. Kozurek and her husband Richard of California; two sons, Ronald P. Bienvenue and his wife Cynthia of Pelham, NH and Richard F. Bienvenue and his wife Ann of Lowell; two sisters, Carol A. Kane and husband Lawrence of West Yarmouth, and Catherine "Kay" Mitchell of Merrimack, MA; a daughter in law, Charmane Bienvenue, of California; 7 grandchildren, Samantha Caputo, Daniel Christoun, Nicholas Bienvenue, Nicole Kozurek, Thomas Kozurek, Danielle Murchie and Jennifer Lamprey; close friends and neighbors, Susan Gignac and Sandy Correlle; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and grand-dogs Abby, Franklin and Winston Bienvenue, and grand-kitty Miss Lilly Christoun. She was also the mother of the late Betty Ann Bienvenue, RobynAnne Bienvenue LaBonte, and Ernest "Sonny" Bienvenue Jr, all lost to Cystic Fibrosis much too soon. BIENVENUE It being Her request, there will be no calling hours. Cremation will take place prior to her Funeral Mass which will be held on Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 at 11:00 AM, at Holy Family Parish (Ste. Marie's Church) on Chamberlain & Grafton Streets in South Lowell, to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
