Mary Scholl Obituary

Mary L. Scholl of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell; 94 Chelmsford Mary L. (Keefe) Scholl. 94, a resident of Summer Place in Chelmsford, but a well-known resident of the Highlands section of Lowell for many years, died Thursday evening at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of the late John A. Scholl, who died in August 1990. Born in Lowell, April 18, 1914, the daughter of the late Timothy and the late Katherine (Ford) Keefe, she attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She then graduated from Lowell Commercial College. Mrs. Scholl was a communicant of St. Margaret Church and a Past Prefect of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of her parish. She was also active in many organizations in Lowell among then the Ladies of St. John Hospital, the Friends of St. John Nursing Home the League of Catholic Women and the Guild of the Infant Savior. Before retiring, Mrs. Scholl was a clerk stenographer with the Metropolitan District Commission in Boston for many years and a member of the Association of State, County and Municipal Employees of Massachusetts. She was also the Bookkeeper for the House of Irwin, a well-known ladies apparel store in Lowell. She is survived by a sister Margaret P. Keefe of Lowell; a daughter Katrine M. Scholl and her husband Craig Killingbeck of Belgrade Lakes, ME; a son Jack Scholl and his wife Anita Wilks Scholl of Olive Branch, MS; a grandson Joseph A. Hayden and his wife Christy; three granddaughters Lee Ann Hayden, Lauren Parry and her husband Dr. Wilson, and MollyAn Killingbeck; two great grandsons Joseph Jones Hayden and William W. Hayden; three great granddaughters Elizabeth Wilks Parry, Grace Parry and Virginia Parry; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Anne Walker, Rita Carr and George Keefe. SCHOLL In Lowell, June 19, 2008, at Saints Medical, Mary L (Keefe) Scholl of Chelmsford, wife of the late John A. Scholl. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday. Her funeral will take place from the funeral home Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock followed by a Funeral Mass at ST. MARGARET CHURCH at 9:30 o'clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
