To the West Family,
I have never met any of yout but as I drove through town today and passed by the church I saw the horse drawn carriage that would carry your son to the cemetary. I had tears in my eyes as I approached the common I saw so many people waiting to honor him and the fire dept waiting with the ladders for him to pass through. My heart breaks for you but I know you are proud. He died a hero.

God Bless

Steven was an amazing neighbor, an amazing friend, and always made me smile. He was one of the most talented people I have ever met in my life. I was so proud of him when he told me he was going into the Marines. Steven knew what he wanted to do. Everytime I walk or drive down our street, I think of the laughs I shared and memories I will keep with Steven. He was an amazing man and an outstanding brother to Dennis, James, and Cullen. Steven is a son that would make any mother or father proud, let alone family and friends. Steven I love you and I am so proud of you. Rest Easy. You're always in my heart; always.

From the Massachusetts State Marine Corps League:
Please accept our deepest regrets and condolences on the passing of former Marine Raymond McNulty.
There is a poem written by a Marine in the Korean War.
It goes like this,

Do not stand by my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds circling in flight.
Do not stand by my grave and cry ...
I am not there. I did not die.
I am a Marine now and always
protecting and serving our
Supreme Father into infinity.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
