Thank you everyone for the love, support and generosity extended to our entire family at the passing of my mother, Alice M. Lorrey. Her greatest gift was her ability to share her life with so many and by doing so giving each of us a piece of her. Whether Alice was preparing a pot of soup for her grand-daughters Erin, Katie and Emily (the gems that put a sparkle in her eyes), making batches of her pecan turtles (which she learned to do from her daughter-in-law Kelly), baking many loaves of pumpkin bread for friends around the holidays (Bob by her side chopping and stirring) or whipping up one of her famous afghans or quilts that so many of us have (including my cat Gina Kitty, and Erin's cat Mike). She loved her winters in the Florida Keys and all the many friends there that they would see each year. I will miss our "Alice Days" reserved for mother-daughter shopping trips and I know Bob will miss everything about her because if she wasn’t working at the Café Escadrille she was with him. My mother loved her life and wanted to laugh and enjoy it with everyone around her. Alice gave me a love for iced coffee when I was 12, she taught me to work hard (just like her), persevere because your hurdles will pass, love your man sweetly (I love you Rick and Alice loved you too), live life simply and don't forget to laugh at yourself along the way. Thank you once again for celebrating Alice’s life with our family and helping us through this difficult time.

I will miss Alice so much especially when I have to work at the 'Drille. I'll always remember Christmas time making turtles together and eating her homemade sweet bread that she baked in a can and gave to everyone! I'll remember toiling over making our first quilt together at Janeils house.
She was a very special person and will always be remembered.
