Anna Gifford

Anna Gifford of Chelmsford, avid gardener; 94 CHELMSFORD Anna (Yehl) Gifford, age 94, a longtime Chelmsford resident, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. She was the wife of the late Henry F. Gifford. Born on March 29, 1914, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Lux) Yehl. She had owned the Colonial Beauty Shop in Chelmsford, and prior to her retirement in 1991, she was a Legal Secretary for Attorney Morris Barlofsky. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, an original member of the Chelmsford Garden Club in the 1950's, and past president of Post #212 of the American Legion. Anna loved painting, gardening and traveling. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Jason and her husband, Brian, of Chelmsford; a son, Robert H. Gifford (Rufus Giffa) of Chelmsford; a grandson, Joseph F. Power and his wife, Gretchen of Westford; and a great-grandson; Jacob D. Power. She was also the sister of the late Stephen Yehl.
