To the VachonFamily,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Nancy, as you well know, was a very special lady. The times myself and family spent at your home at gatherings with the YFU kids were so memorable. She really made a difference in so many ways. I'll truly miss her.

Dear Donna,
I am so sorry to hear about Nancy. My sister Rebecca told me this weekend. I cannot imagine what you are going through. In reading these postings, I can tell Nancy was much loved. I was just in Portland, Maine last month with my niece and would have loved to have seen you or Nancy. Do take care during this time of grief. And would love to hear from you sometime.
Love,
Tokie

Vachon Family,

I was lucky enough to have worked with Nancy in the float pool. She helped train me as a new nurse and was always an example of patience, kindness, selfless hardwork- and always with a big smile and a contagious giggle now and then. I know I am a better nurse having had her as a mentor and honestly feel blessed to have known her for the past 4 years. She was a wonderful woman.
My deepest sympathy to you all.

Nancy .... What I like to think ....

When someone you really have respect and love for dies, it is easy to think that they are now far away.

Even though we haven't spoken in more than a decade ... You are not far away. You have been a part of all that we say, think and do, because it was a pleasure to know you .... of every breath that we breathe; those inhalations shaped by our wealth of experiences in life with people like you.

We are in body on earth for just "moments", there can be many miles, and years of separation. Friends are not always together in life. Nancy your infectious smile and "impossible dream" spirit worked its way into peoples heart so gently and unobtrusively that some considerable time passes before the impact of your friendship becomes obvious.

You must have found your song-line and are on walkabout; now you are closer because your just a "thought" away.

Our quiet love for you can only deepen with the passage of time; and the revisiting of wonderful memories.

Safe Passage .... Fair Winds and Following Seas;

Since our graduation I only talked to Nancy at our class reunions. The few times we talked her energy and smile always seemed to to be stronger and brighter. Living in the small town of Groton we started first grade with the same people we graduated high school with. Nancy was a friend too many and always seemed to have time to talk. I can only imagine if Nancy carried the same abilities into her family life and work that she will be missed by many. Although my contact with Nancy had been limited over the last 34 years I feel like I lost a best friend.

Travis, Adam, and Tyler. Your mother was a very special women, she touched many many hearts and helped so many lives. She always gave of herself, selfishly. I know you are proud of her, I was proud to call her my friend. Please except my deepist and warmest sympathy. Nancy will be truly missed.

To Nancy's family~
I worked with Nancy in the Float Pool and was always amazed at her energy, her spirit, and her expertise. It is hard to put into words the enormity of sadness Nancy's death brings, and I hope in some small way the knowledge that so many people loved, admired, respected, and adored Nancy can bring you even a grain of comfort.

She often floated to oncology where her kindess, and big smile along with her knowledge was such a great assest to our "staff family". She will be greatly and sorely missed by all who new her and blessed to have known her. May the memories of her smiles and kindnesses and zest for life be of some comfort to you all at this time.

I was stunned to learn of
Nancy's death. I remember the first time I met her. She struck me as a energetic, cheerful mother. We met over a kid's activity with her middle son and my older son. She was my older son's Webelos Den Leader. We kept meeting over kid activities. I wish I had gotten to know her better. I will miss her smile!

Nancy did not so much "float" as "show up" on our unit - an amazing nurse and resource as well as a wonderful person to spend time with. Whenever we heard that she was going to be joining us for the day, or even for just a few hours, we knew she was coming on to do the best job. It's with shock and much sadness that we send our deepest sympathy to her loving family. Our prayers and love go with her and you - we will miss her terribly.

They say there is a special place in heaven for nurses. That special place now has a whirlwind coordinator! I have had the honor of working with this little dynamo for the past four years and can honestly say there were very few moments when there wasn't a smile on her face even in the most stressful of times. Her energy was unrivaled. She was a welcomed and highly-respected presence in every department at MMC, and I personally will miss her inspiration, guidance and friendship. I send my deepest sympathies to her sons of whom she spoke of frequently with such love and pride. Nancy is truly an angel.

Every day since I found out about Nancy, my heart aches. She was a wonderful lady. I loved working with her on the Gibson Pavillion when she worked up there as a float nurse. She was a nurse you would want to care for you or a loved one. It's a terrible loss to her patients, family and everyone that knew her. My sympathy to her family.
