Daniel Moynihan Obituary

Daniel L. Moynihan of Lowell, Sears retiree, Air Force vet; 71 LOWELL Daniel L. Moynihan, 71, of Lowell, died Friday evening, at the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford. He was the husband of Rosemarie "Rudy" (O'Soro) Moynihan, they celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in February. Born in Boston, January 29, 1937, the son of the late Daniel and the late Madeline Frances (Bradley) Moynihan. He attended Boston schools and was graduate of Mission Hill High School. He was a communicant at St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford. From 1954 to 1958, he was a member of the US Air Force. Before retiring several years ago, Dan worked at the Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 46 years, where he worked in the shipping and receiving department and then also in the parts department. An avid golfer, he was a former member of Mount Pleasant Golf Club in Lowell, and also worked at Scottish Highland Golf Club in Salem, NH. Dan was also a member of the Lowell Lodge of Elks and was a Past Exalted Ruler of the lodge. Besides his wife, Rosemarie "Rudy", he is survived by two daughters, Audrey Viega and her husband, Joao of Lowell, and Rosemarie Santomango and her husband, Kenneth of Dracut; four grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Viega, Stephanie and Brian Santomango; and a brother, Thomas Moynihan of Stoughton; a brother-in-law, James Spicer also of Stoughton; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frances Spicer. MOYNIHAN In Bedford, July 18, 2008 at VA Hospital, Daniel L. Moynihan, 71, of Lowell. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M., Tuesday. His funeral will take place from the funeral home Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock followed by a Funeral Mass at ST. JOHN the EVANGELIST CHURCH in North Chelmsford at 11 o'clock.
