Louis Richard Obituary

Louis J. Richard of Lowell, Army vet, WWII; 87 LOWELL Mr. Louis J. Richard, a resident of Lowell, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Lowell General Hospital, aged 87 years. He was the husband of Constance (Gagnon) Richard with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary, April 20th. A United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on May 14, 1921, the son of the late Anthony E. and Premila (Leblanc) Richard. He received his early education in the Lynn School system. Mr. Richard enlisted in the Army on June 8, 1942 and served overseas, attaining the rank of Sergeant with Company C 258th Quarter Master Battalion. He was honorably discharged Dec. 4, 1945, and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with the Bronze Service Stars. Besides his wife, Constance, he is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline L. Cohen of Lowell; two sons, Laurence J. Richard and his wife, Kathleen of Ashby, and Ronald L. Richard of Somerville; two grandchildren, Aaron Cohen of Lowell, and Erin Richard of Ashby, MA; four sisters, Beatrice Small of Lynn, Juliet Rowe of Nashua, NH, Joan Ferrante of Florida, and Theresa Johnson of Danvers; a brother, George Richard of Acton; also by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Blvd., Lowell at Chester and Harvard Streets on Wed. from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Thursday at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Margaret Church, Lowell at 9:30 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford. Aaron & Jackie,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dori called and told me the sad news. May the love demonstated by those that knew and loved him help you get through this.
