Jeanne Wayland Obituary

Jeanne Wayland an avid cook and gardener; 77 Littleton Jeanne (Ferris) Wayland, 77, of Littleton died on July 20 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Andrew Wayland of Littleton, two daughters Andrea Chandler and her husband Richard of Northborough, Donna O'Connell of Athol, two sons Andrew P. Wayland and his wife Susan Sacramento, CA: Richard Wayland and his wife Joy of Jaffrey,NH, eight Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was born in Waltham, daughter of the late George and Irene (Thompson) Ferris. She attended school in Waltham and graduated from Bancroft School of Hair Design, working as a hairdresser for Grover Cronin and later for Whistler Corporation in Westford, retiring after 17 years of service. Married in 1950, she made her home in Waltham before moving to Littleton in 1955. Jeanne most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, was an avid cook and gardener and well known for her skills in growing flowers and plants of all types. She was especially fond of animals, lovingly caring for many pets throughout her entire life. WAYLAND Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 5-8 pm Thursday at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton with a a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St Anne Church, 75 King St. Littleton o Friday at 10 a.m. with burial immediately follwing Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
