Bob Williams Obituary

Bob E. Williams of Concord, Raytheon retiree, Army vet; 79 CONCORD Bob E. Williams, 79, a longtime Concord resident, died Saturday, July 26, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Collier) Williams who survives him. Bob was born in Witchita, KS on Feb. 17, 1929, a son of the late Charles E. and Sylvia J. (Davis) Williams. He was educated in the Witchita, KS school system. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army as a Radio Technician until he was Honorably Discharged in 1952. Bob worked for several defense companies during his career including Sperry Gyroscope, Benedix Aircraft, and for over three decades he worked for Raytheon, in their California, Lexington, Bedford, Wayland, and Sudbury locations. During his employment, Bob worked on many missle programs, such as the Sperry Guided Missle, the Sparrow 3, and the Patriot Missle. Mr. Williams was a Gentle Giant, and was a very caring person. Besides his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terilyn and Bud Costello; and his grandchildren, Ryan and Kristine Costello, all of which he resided with for several years at their home in Tyngsboro. He is also survived by three sons, David, Philip, and John Williams; daughters, Patricia and Kim Williams; a grandson, Jason of whom he raised; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
