Cecile Lajoie Obituary

Cecile G. Lajoie longtime resident of Dracut; 90 Dracut Cecile G. (Normand) (Shimko) Lajoie, 90, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Monday July 28th at her home. She was the wife of the late Frank Shimko and the late Joseph Lajoie. She was born in Lowell on August 27, 1917, and was a daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Gagne) Normand. She received her education in Lowell schools. Mrs. Lajoie spend most of her life tending to the needs of her home and family. In her early years she worked in area mills, and during World War II she sewed parachutes. She was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut. She is survived by a son Kenneth Shimko of Dracut; three grandchildren Michelle Shimko and her fiancé Bill Frisone, both of FL, Melissa Shimko of CA, and Jason McManus and his fiancé Andrea McCann, both of Pelham; eleven great grandchildren Mason, Michael, Marianna, Mercedes, Ashley, Amanda, Taylor, Kyran, Devon, Cameron, and Bruschi; a sister Annette Bourassa of Tyngsboro, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Richard Shimko, and Sandra (Shimko) McManus, and the sister of the late Paul Normand, and Rita Lehman. LAJOIE Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 8:30 until 10:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Mary Magdalen Church, PO Box 100, Tyngsboro, MA 01879. Deepest sympathy to Cecile's Family.
I remember when I first met Cecile when she was with my great uncle Joe. Now they are both together again and they will both be missed.
Pauline (Lajoie)her niece is waiting for her with open arms.
We Just lost Pauline LaJoie November 3, 2007 at the age of 92.
