Claude Portelle Obituary

Claude Arlette Portelle of Westford, Formerly of France; 71 Westford Claude Arlette (Guillot) Portelle, 71, of Westford died Monday July 28, 2008 at the Lowell General Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Robert Portelle with whom she celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on March 4. She was born in France, a daughter of the late Etienne and Christiane (Corbin) Guillot. She was raised and educated in France before coming to the United States in 1967. Claude worked as a French Teacher at St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH for over 10 years. She also had taught French at the Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert Christian Portelle of Alexandria, VA and a daughter Brigette Ann Portelle of VA; a grandson, Alex Singher of Westford, MA; a brother and sister in-law, Etienne and Ruth Guillot of Nice, France; a sister and brother in-law, Marie-Berthe and Alain Mayet of Chateauroux, France. PORTELLE Claude Arlette (Guillot) Portelle of Westford died July 28, 2008 in Lowell, MA. At her request there will be a Memorial Service and Burial in France at a later date.
