Irene Murphy Obituary

Irene R. Murphy lifelong Lynn resident, daughter in Lowell; 97 LYNN Mrs. Irene R. Murphy, 97, of Lynn, died Wednesday in Union Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James A. Murphy. Born in Lynn, daughter of the late Jesse H. and Elizabeth (LaChapelle) Blaisdell. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School, and a lifelong resident of the city. Irene was a communicant of St. Pius V Church, and a Volunteer for the American Heart Assn. and for Polio. She leaves two sons, Arthur D. Murphy of Ludington, Michigan, and Gerald E. Murphy of Kirkland, Washington; three daughters, Sally A. Moynihan of Lowell, Maureen T. Ledrich of Winter Park, FL, and Diane M. Murphy of Lynn; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James M. Murphy, who passed away last month, and sister of the late Chester, Edmund, Dana, and Adeline Blaisdell, and Marion Stalbird. MURPHY Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, Saturday at 10 A.M. Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visitation Period Saturday from 10:00 A.M. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
