Irene R. Murphy

Irene R. Murphy lifelong Lynn resident, daughter in Lowell; 97 LYNN Mrs. Irene R. Murphy, 97, of Lynn, died Wednesday in Union Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James A. Murphy. Born in Lynn, daughter of the late Jesse H. and Elizabeth (LaChapelle) Blaisdell. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School, and a lifelong resident of the city. Irene was a communicant of St. Pius V Church, and a Volunteer for the American Heart Assn. and for Polio. She leaves two sons, Arthur D. Murphy of Ludington, Michigan, and Gerald E. Murphy of Kirkland, Washington; three daughters, Sally A. Moynihan of Lowell, Maureen T. Ledrich of Winter Park, FL, and Diane M. Murphy of Lynn; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James M. Murphy, who passed away last month, and sister of the late Chester, Edmund, Dana, and Adeline Blaisdell, and Marion Stalbird.
