William Lee Obituary

William R. Lee lifelong Billerica resident; 78 Billerica William R. "Winky" Lee, age 78, beloved husband of Joan V. (Jenkins) Lee with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in February, died Monday August 11, at Lowell General Hospital due to complications of diabetes. He was born in Cambridge, January 10, 1930 son of the late Canute William and Charlotte (Tholander) Lee and was a lifelong Billerica resident. Mr. Lee was a Graduate of Howe High School in Billerica, and Northeastern university with the class of 1968 and was a Production Control Supervisor for Raytheon in Waltham for over 25 years. He was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks for many years. Besides his wife he is survived by 9 sons, Timothy Lee and his wife DiAnn of Bedford, Michael Lee and his wife Lorraine, Daniel Lee, Robert Lee and his wife Linda, Steven Lee, Kenneth Lee all of Billerica, William Lee and his wife Tanya of Nashua, Joseph Lee, and John and his wife Cheri also of Billerica; A daughter, Janet MacRae and her fiancé Greg Goss of Hudson, NH; seventeen grandchildren, Jason and Alissa Lee, Michele DeFilippo and her husband Paul, Kristin Lee, Karen Fisk and her husband Ben, Kristopher Lee, Nicholas Lee and his wife Mary, Aimee Lee, Jeremy Lee, Daniel and Lindsay MacRae, Shannon and Colleen Lee, Devon Lee, Garrett, Tiffany and Angela Lee; three great-grandchildren, William and Rachel Fisk and Nathan Lee; one brother, Robert Lee and his wife Judy; four sisters, Helen Potter and her husband Skip, Joyce Carpenter and her husband Bob, Dorothea "Bunny" MacNeill and her husband Arthur, and Charlotte McDewell and her husband T.D., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Wendy Jane Lee who died in 1984. LEE Of Billerica, William R. "Winky" Lee, Aug 11, husband of Joan V. (Jenkins) Lee. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at the Pinehurst Community Congregational Church, 803 Boston Rd. Billerica at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica from 3 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 Funeral Directors W. J. and Dean M. Laurendeau.
