Chelmsford Julius J. Casciotti, 88, of Chelmsford and formerly of the Highlands Section of Lowell, died Sunday morning, August 10th at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Frances E. (Halligan) Casciotti.
Born December 25, 1919 in Norwich, PA., the son of the late Filipo and the late Enesta (Depetris) Casciotti, he attended Ithaca, N.Y. schools and was a graduate of Ithaca High School Class of 1937. He then went on to receive an Associates Degree in Accounting from Bentley College.
During WW II, Mr Casciotti served with the U.S. Army in the Algeria-French-Morocco, Sicily and Tunisian Campaigns with the Army 1st Infantry Division during which time he received the American Defense Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Bronze Star, the Combat Medical Badge and a Purple Heart.
Before retiring, he was Chief Accountant for GCA Technologies in Bedford for over fifteen years.
Mr. Casciotti was a member of the Lowell Knights of Columbus, Council 72 and the Disabled American Veterans, Edith N. Rogers Chapter 25. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Lowell Spinners.
Besides his wife Frances, Mr. Casciotti is survived by two daughters Donna M. Casciotti of Chelmsford and Inez E. Levesque and her husband Roger of Billerica; a son Joseph P. Casciotti and his wife Lou Ann of Arlington; three grandchildren Philip Levesque and his wife Lisa of Tyngsboro, Kerri Ann Casciotti and Alec Casciotti both of Arlington; two sisters Esther Adamus of Cayuga, NY and Irene Petito and her husband Tony of Newfield, NY; two brothers Gil Casciotti and his wife Helena of Mesa, AZ and Philip Casciotti of Ithaca, NY; also many nieces, nephews and good friends.
CASCIOTTI - Funeral Services were private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Saturday August 30th at ST. MARGARET CHURCH in Lowell at 9:30 A.M. E-condolences at
