Kirkor Kirkorian Obituary

Kirkor G. Kirkorian life long resident of Lowell; 87 Lowell Mr. Kirkor "Kirk" G. Kirkorian, a life long resident of Lowell, died, Monday, August 11, 2008 after an extended illness, aged 87 years. He was the beloved husband, to Rose (Der Garabedian) Kirkorian, they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on October 31st. A World War II Army Air Corp Veteran. Born in Lowell, on October 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Garabed and Dirouhi (Der Torsian) Kirkorian. Mr. Kirkorian received his early education in the Lowell School system, and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1939. He continued his education at the New England Air Craft School as a mechanic, graduated in 1943. Mr. Kirkorian enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp after graduation. He was stationed at Florence Air Force Base, served as an instructor, training pilots and gunners for three months prior to their deployment overseas. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Kirk was a member of the Armenian American Veterans. When he returned to Lowell, Mr. Kirkorian went to Barber School in Boston, and was licensed in 1950 and joined his brother in business at the corner of Pine and Westford Streets. In 1967 he moved with his brother to the shop in Cupple Square working their until he retired in 1982. The shop was well known throughout the city of Lowell, for its political conversations and sports talk, many a new comer to the shop would often wonder "Who would be next". Kirk enjoyed wood working. He was a member of Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose, a sister-in-law, Ann Astorian of Lowell and several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Lucy Alexanderian, Elizabeth Kirkorian, Mary Kalajin and Austin Astorian. KIRKORIAN Mr. Kirkor G. Kirkorian, a resident of Lowell died in Lowell August 11, 2008, aged 87 years. He was the husband of Rose (Garabedian) Kirkorian. A WWII Army Air Corp Veteran. It being his request there will be no calling hours. His funeral service will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church. Friends invited, In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make Memorial Contributions in his name to either, Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church, 180 Old Westford Rd. Chelmsford, MA 01824 or Allegiance Hospice 67 Middle St. #503 Lowell, MA 01852. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery. Funeral Director Walter F.
