Daniel MacMaster Obituary

Daniel J. MacMaster life long resident of Lowell, 58 Lowell Mr. Daniel J. MacMaster, a life long resident of Lowell, died August 18, 2008 after a courageous battle with lung cancer, aged 58 years. Born in Lowell on November 22, 1949, the son of the late Hector J. and Mary (Sliney) MacMaster. Dan received his education in the Lowell School system and was a graduate of Lowell High school with the Class of 1968. He attended Northern Essex Community College. Dan was a gunnery Sargent and had been a member of the Marine Reserves Unit out of Lawrence, MA. He worked for the Food and Drug Administration in Winchester, MA as a purchasing agent and received numerous commendations. Dan was also associated with the Laughton's Garden Center in North Chelmsford. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and enjoyed following his beloved Red Sox. Dan was a devoted son, brother and Uncle; he loved his family and the time he spent with them. He leaves two sisters, Sheila (MacMaster) Herbert and her husband Thomas of Nashua NH, and Mary Gail (MacMaster) Jaggers and her husband Jerry of Tyngsboro, and a brother Jack W. MacMaster and his wife Kathy of Lawrence. He also leaves eight nephews, and one niece, Shawn, Shane and his wife Anna, Kevin and Brian MacMaster, Brendan and Patrick Herbert, Devin and Michaelin Jaggers and Breton Jaggers, one grand niece, Ashleigh MacMaster. Also an Aunt Theresa (Sliney) of Framingham, Ma and many cousins and friends, a very dear friend Paul Demers of Dracut. MACMASTER Died, in Lowell, Mr. Daniel J. MacMaster, a life long resident of Lowell, aged 58 years. The son of the late Hector J. and Mary (Sliney) MacMaster. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME 122 Princeton Blvd. at Chester and Harvard Sts on Thursday August 21, 2008 from 4 8 PM. Funeral will take place Friday, 8:30 at the funeral home with a Mass at St. Margaret church at 9:30 AM Friends invited. Friends who wish may make Memorial Contributions in his name to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St. #9 Lawrence, MA 01843. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Pepperell. I worked in the same office with Dan at the FDA in Winchester for five years before I transferred to the Stoneham office.
Dan was always a gentleman and a very nice man.
