Thanks to all of you for providing this guest book. It was a lovely way to remember your mom. I spent the day in Ogunquit today and it brought back many memories of her. I always enjoyed out time together. I think that you'll find with time you notice more and more qualities that were your mom's. I know I notice them in myself and I am so blessed to have so many wonderful memories. I hope your memories will be a comfort to you.

Today is the last day for this online book. It has been nice to come to a place to write you. For others to share as well. Even though this will not be here, I can still talk to you. I think about you all the time. I know you are so close because I hear it in my voice and the things I say.(yes, I really do) You know, how Mike calls me "Roberta" sometimes. He thinks he is funny. ha ha Be well. One day, we will meet up again.
Love you forever and always.....and I miss the heck out of you.

Well Mom, I think it is time to close this chapter. This book will end in a few days. I think about you everyday and will never forget. It has been a very comfortable stay at your house, and I wish you had been here to enjoy it for a longer time with Dad. It is heartbreaking to see him slip, especially not to have you by his side. I will say my final good bye to you, and know that we all miss you each and everyday. Love always Linda

Dad is healthy and well, and we will continue to care for him as best we can. He got to spend some time in Maine, Okee and Chelmsford recently and I think it was great for him. He says he'd do it again. He even cut the grass with his tractor. Miss you and love you forever. Linda

Hi Mom - As usual Im late, but I had a good teacher - Happy Mothers Day and a Happy Birthday too. Dont worry Dad didnt forget either, he knew it was your birthday. We bought a place in Florida, a duplex, so we have a place to stay when we visit him. He is doing well and well cared for. Took him to Doggie Beach today and I think he enjoyed it with all of us and the dogs too of course. Your flowers are blooming nicely in Maine, but Im sure I will have some work to do. Guess what, I ronched my back AGAIN. You would be so proud of the way we are furnishing our place in Florida, you know, Thurs night is trash night :), wish you were here to help. All the kids are getting big, and you would just love them. We miss you very much and think about you all the time. I still cant believe you were so freakin' stubborn. Well say hello to everyone up there with you. Been finding alot of pennies, thanks. Drop a few of those wooden spoons in Brians yard will ya. Dont worry about Dad, he is doing fine, just as we promised. Love you and miss you alot. Linda

December 13, 2008

Dear Ma,
I sent you a care package today. You should have gotten it just after lunchtime. If you have not seen it yet, you should turn around cause I know it is right on your heels. Do you see him yet? Well, Jakey was a sick boy. He went to the vets and they tried to help him but it just wasn't enough. I guess he missed you so much, he decided he wanted to be with you. So, now I have two of you that I am missing so much. He was such a good boy. I know you will be proud to show off your boy with the "great personality". Take care of each other and make sure you tell him for me how much I love him and am going to miss him. Dad is missing him already too. He has nobody to sit and stare at him while he eats. Nobody to feed under the table either. Give him a big hug and a kiss for me and scratch him on the back too. You know how much he likes that.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I guess it is fitting to say what I am thankful for.
I am thankful that I had my Mother in my life for as long as I did. We had so many good times and tons of long phone calls. Sometimes, those phone calls were 2 minutes but most times, they were more like 2 hours. I am thankful that my Mom was caring, and also that she was sometimes a little tough on us. But, I guess that is how you learn. I am thankful for her apple pies cause Lord knows, I could never make her crust. I am going to miss having Mom here for Thanksgiving, even though the last few years, we did not share those meals together. We did however, share the phone calls. No matter where I was, or where she was, we would talk. The last few years, Ma and Dad had dinner at a restaurant in Maine and Ma always called me to tell me about the desert wagon they wheeled out after you were done your meal. For whatever reasons you are thankful, please cherish them. They do not last forever. This year, we will celebrate the day without the most wonderful person there ever was. Hopefully, I can make normal stuffing and gravy.........Yeah, right, it will come out of a jar. That is about as good as it gets. Ma, I will be thinking of you as I do every day. I miss you something awful. I sometimes get angry at your leaving us so soon but I also know that you could not stay forever. Please watch over all of us and sleep tight.

I love you and miss you so very much.

Ok Ma, you are never going to believe this.  The one and ONLY orchid you did not manage to kill off has NEW GROWTH!!!!!  I see new leaves and new roots.  Did someone give you tips up there or am I just getting lucky here?  Keep your eyes on it.  Dad is getting along quite well.  He is definitely missing you as we all are.  We are just trying to keep him busy.  He has been messing around in the garage quite a bit.  Him and Matt have been lighting fires to keep us warm.  Time to think aobut going to bed now.  will be thinking about you as always.  Love you

So, what do you think? 'Nana' is the next tropical storm in the Atlantic. What a name to name a storm, ha? I think it is a pretty cool one. Was thinking about you and Chrissy last night. I was in the bookstore and they added a card section. So, of course, I was standing there reading them and laughing. Of course, it just was not the same not standing there without either one of you. I will never forget the night there was a police officer in the next aisle and she asked us if we had been drinking cause we were in tears laughing. Chrissy was on the floor hysterical. Well, just stopped in to say hello, miss you like crazy. Wish there was a phone there just so we could yak like we always did. So many times I want to pick up the phone cause I tripped on new information or just to update you on "stuff". See what you can't do about that. See ya :)

Dear Mom - I miss you so very much. It was much too early for you to leave us. There are so many unanswered questions and so much to figure out. Where's Wallace?????? We will look for those pennies. I thank you for all that you have taught us and for all you've done over the years. You did a great job and Im so proud of who you were. Who is gonna make the pies at christmas and those lemon squares and brownie bars? I dont know, but Ill be mixing the brownies by hand. Please give Nana a hug for me and tell her I miss her very much. Dont worry either, as I promised, we will take care of Dad. He misses you a whole bunch too. He is lonely, but not alone. Love you forever. Linda

Today I found a penny,
Just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
This little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven.
That's what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
To make a smile out of your frown.
So don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue;
It may be a Penny from Heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.

Ma...You had this thing about picking up pennies and saving them. I know you are our angel watching over us. Fell like sharing a few? I am missing you like crazy, wishing you were here. My heart is heavy and you are needed more than you could ever know.
I received a funny note from Chrissy's Mom. She said, "Heaven will not be the same with you and Chrissy there."

To the Tonks Family-
I have great memories of being with Robie and the rest of your family. I remember Gerry and Robie spending time playing with my boys, Doug and Bill, when they were little tykes. Either at your home or at Tensie's Nana Lock was usually there, too. I am sure it gives you some comfort to think of them together again. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

Good evening Mother,
Got some very nice cards from some very nice people. Several people have given a gift of membership to the Association of Marian Helpers. They offer special prayers for you. You sure have some people here that really love you. Do me a favor, the next time you see Walter sleeping under the stars, give him an extra twinkle or two. Have a good night and I will speak to you in the morning. I love you and miss you.

There was a double chocolate cake there that you would have loved. Im sure you had a peice. Aunty Brenda and Aunty Linda and Lyn all put garden tools and pictures of you and everyone on a table. It was lovely. Things wont be the same without you. I know that you are watching over all of us. We were all so lucky to have you in our lives. I love you. Tell Nana Locke and Aunt Betty and my Grammy that I said Hello.

See you at the gates someday.

Hi Roberta,
Ray and I will miss you and our visits to Maine. It was a great place to be, always so peaceful. Leaving the boys at home to chat while we did the shops was so much fun also. We knew they couldn't get into too much trouble (at least we hoped not). We are glad you were part of our lives. Until we meet again.

Hey Mom,
Today, we had a wonderful luncheon in your honor. I am sure you saw all who were there. You even had a classmate who drove around for 2 hours lost, just to come. pst: I think she liked you !!! So, did you see that little black dress? I wore it just for you. I even got to tell the story a few times about how I came to acquire that little black dress. I still don't get why you had to leave but like I said, I heard Nana calling you. I miss you so very much, I think about you all day and night. Please be safe and keep us all under your watchful eyes. (yes, even the ones on the back of your head) I love you, I miss you. Sleep tight.

I am very sad over your passing, it was quite a shock to me. I am heartbroken to think that I can never call you again. Thanks for giving me hours of your endless listening and advice. Dear Mom,
I am so sad you are gone. I am going to miss you so very much. Who is going to spend an entire day shopping and trying on all those little dresses with me? Who am I going to call 20 times a day, night or week with my insane questions? Who is going to answer the phone with a "Yeah?". We are going to miss all your little traditions and ways about the world. Rest easy for all is well here. I miss you, I love you and life is definitely going to be missing a link. Peace be with you :)
