Frances Harrington Obituary

Frances M. Harrington longtime Chelmsford resident; 88 Chelmsford Frances M. (Stowell) Harrington, 88, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, and a member of a well known Greater Lowell family, died peacefully Sunday evening at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward V. Harrington who died August 13, 1984. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 23, 1920, the daughter of the late Frederick C. and the late Mary (King) Stowell she attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Mrs. Harrington went on to graduate from Lowell Commercial College. An active member of the community, she was a past Treasurer and volunteer for the Lowell General Hospital Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Harrington was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford where she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality Among her many interests, she enjoyed playing golf and bridge as a forty year member of Nashua Country Club. Mrs. Harrington is survived by her son Daniel J. Harrington and his wife Leah of Westford; her beloved grandchildren Kathryn Harrington and Colin Harrington; four brothers John Stowell of Aventura, FL, Raymond Stowell of Lowell, Robert Stowell and his wife Elsa of North Chelmsford and Lawrence Stowell of Lowell; many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Frederick Stowell, the late William Stowell and the late Paul Stowell. HARRINGTON In Lowell, August 31, 2008, at Lowell General, Frances M. (Stowell) Harrington of Chelmsford, wife of the late Edward V. Harrington. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Friday morning at 9 o'clock followed by a Funeral mass at ST. MARY CHURCH in CHELMSFORD at 10 o'clock. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
