Florence Ward Obituary

Florence M. Ward of Acton; 80 ACTON Florence M. (Bone) Ward, of Acton, and formerly of Watertown, died Monday on her 80th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis G. Ward. Born in Waltham and raised in Watertown, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Grace (Owens) Bone. Mrs. Ward was a graduate of Watertown High School. She and her husband were married in 1956, settling in Acton to raise their two children. For many years the Wards owned and operated Floral Fashions, a florist shop in Acton. After Mr. Ward's death in 1977, Mrs. Ward worked at The Beacon, and later at Sentry Insurance in Concord. She especially loved time spent with her family, and with friends at the Senior Center in Acton. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ward of Acton; a son, Edward Ward and his wife, Julie (Belleveau) Ward of Townsend; two granddaughters, Megan and Sarah Ward of Townsend; and a sister, Dorothy Bailey of Mansfield. Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Sat., Sept. 6th in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington St., Acton, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Rd., Acton.
