Edward Moss Obituary

Edward A. D. Moss, III formerly of Tyngsboro, WWII vet; 83 NASHUA, NH Edward A. D. Moss, III, 83, of Nashua, NH, and formerly of Tyngsboro, MA, died Wednesday morning, September 3, 2008, at the Courville at Nashua, after a brief illness. Born in Marlborough, MA on March 27, 1925, Ed was a son of the late Edward A.D. Jr. and Cathleen L. (Carey) Moss. Mr. Moss made his home in Tyngsboro, MA for 45 years before moving to Nashua where he has resided for over 20 years. Mr. Moss was a graduate of Lowell High School and the former Boston School of Anatomy, Embalming & Funeral Directing in 1947. During World War II, Ed served with the Army in the European Theater of operations. A licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director in Massachusetts from 1949 to 1999, Mr. Moss had been affiliated with several funeral homes in Greater Lowell. Ed also worked in Nursing service at the E.N. Rogers Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA for 36 years. Fraternally, Mr. Moss held membership in Rising Sun Lodge #39 F & AM of Nashua, all Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Nashua and the New Hampshire Consistory 32nd degree. Ed also held memberships in Bektash Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Concord and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Gate City Chapter #7 of Nashua. Members of his family include his longtime friend, Edith F. Hall of Dennisport, MA; a sister and brother-in-law, Faith D. and Jack Mogan of Merced, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Seth R. and Ericka Moss of Yorktown, VA; also nieces and nephews. MOSS A private graveside service was held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Friday. Donations may be made in his memory to a favorite charity of one's choice. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE, 18 Lock St., Nashua. (603) 882-0591.
