Betty Anne Bemis Billerica school cafeteria retiree; 71 Billerica Betty Anne Bemis, age 71, died Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Lowell General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Richard B. Bemis. She was born in Malden, February 14, 1937, the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Smith) Anderson. A resident of Billerica since 1951, she was a member of the last graduating class from Howe High School in 1955. She was a cook and manager for the Billerica Memorial High School cafeteria for 20 years. Mrs. Bemis was an active member of several organizations including the Eastern Star Chapter #212, 4H Club as a Leader, Mothers Club of the Rainbow Girls, Two Step Club, and the Billerica Senior Center. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles Powderly of Westminster, Robin and Thomas Robbins of Dracut, and Paula and Jim LaPerriere of Lewiston, Maine; her brothers, Richard Anderson of Lowell, and Douglas Smith of Maryland; her sister, Kristina Hebel of NJ; her eight grandchildren, Candi and her husband, Ron Brenn, Michael Powderly, Kevin Sullivan, Thomas (T.J.) Robbins, Jennifer Robbins and her fiancé, Brett, Stephen Fudge, Katie Fudge, and Jeremy LaPerriere; her great-grandchildren, Aaron, Dylan, Lauren, Amber, Brett Jr. and Micheal; her mother-in-law, Lillian Bemis of Billerica; and her brothers-in-law, Bruce and his wife, Janice Bemis of Lowell, and Wayne and his wife, Shirley Bemis of Merrimack, NH.
