Martha Shattuck Obituary

Martha E. Shattuck of Pepperell Pepperell Martha E. Shattuck died Sunday September 14, 2008, at River Court Residences in Groton. She was born in Watertown, Ma. March 16, 1918, daughter of the late George M. and Mary P. (Holmes) Shattuck and was the wife of the late George W. Shattuck who died in 1992. She spent her early life in Watertown where she attended the Schools. Mrs. Shattuck had resided in Danville, N.H. for 14 years before relocating to Pepperell in 1958. Mrs. Shattuck was a long time member of the Community Church of Pepperell, and enjoyed many years summering in Wells, Maine. Some of her hobbies included knitting, cooking and crafts. She is survived by two sons George M. Shattuck and his wife Vickie of Pepperell and William A. Shattuck and his wife Jean Ferguson of Ipswich, Ma, a brother George Duley and his wife Connie of Bow, NH, three grandchildren Corrie Swanson of Ashburnham and Matthew Shattuck of West Townsend and Christopher Norris of Ipswich, Ma. She was also the grandmother of the late Molly Ferguson Shattuck who died in 2005. Also survived by four great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Ralph Duley and his wife Irene. SHATTUCK of Pepperell September 14, 2008 Martha E. (Duley) Shattuck. Funeral Services Saturday 10 A.M. at the Community Church of Pepperell Townsend St. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 P.M. at the HAMILTON-McGAFFIGAN Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte 113), Pepperell. Relatives and friends kindly invited. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Molly F. Shattuck Scholarship Fund c/o Institution for Savings, 2 Depot Square, Ipswich, Ma. 01938.
