Irene E. Arcand

Irene E. Arcand longtime resident of Lowell; 83 Lowell Irene E. (Dupras) Arcand, age 83, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell died unexpectedly on Friday, September 19, 2008 at the D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert P. Arcand. Born in Lowell, on May 3, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Bertha (Bellemare) Dupras. She attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of St. Louis Academy. She also had attended business school. Prior to her retirement, Irene had been employed for 25 years by the Union National Bank of Lowell. She was a member of the former Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Parish where she was active in the parish and was past Treasurer. She was a member and past president of the D'Youville Manor Ladies Guild. Irene enjoyed bowling, interior decorating, ceramics and spending time with her family. She had also volunteered for many years at the Lowell General Hospital. Her survivors include a son, Gary R. Arcand and his wife Rose M. of Nashua, NH; a sister, Theresa D. Thorne of Sandown, NH; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Dupras of Lowell. Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning September 24th, from 8:30 to 10:30 at the ARCHAMBAULT FUNERAL HOME, 309-311 Pawtucket St., Lowell, to be followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock at the Holy Family Parish, 90 Chamberlain St., Lowell.
