Marcia Sexton Obituary

Marcia H. Sexton formerly of Lowell, Immaculate member; 94 ANDOVER Marcia H. (Donovan) Sexton, 94, formerly of Lowell and Andover, died Thursday morning, September 25, 2008, at the Meadows in North Andover. She was the wife of the late John J. Sexton, who died in 1969. Born in Lowell, January 13, 1914, the daughter of the late Joseph R. and the late Sarah (Newton) Donovan. She was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough in the class of 1931. She then graduated from Framingham State Teachers College. Before retiring, she was a Customer Service representative, for many years, with Massachusetts Electric Company (now National Grid). Mrs. Sexton was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell for many years and then at St. Augustine Church in Andover. She was a member of the Poor Clare Guild and the Guild of the Infant Savior. She was an active volunteer at the Thrift Shop in Andover. She also held membership in the Stock Club of Lowell and the Travelers Club of Lawrence. Mrs. Sexton is survived a daughter, Cynthia M. Sexton of Andover; a son, Alan J. Sexton of Lowell; two grandsons, John Sexton and Justin Sexton, both of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother-in-law of the late Catherine E. (Murphy) Sexton. SEXTON In North Andover, Sept. 25, at the Meadows, Marcia H. (Donovan) Sexton, 94, formerly of Lowell and Andover, wife of the late John D. Sexton. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTCKET ST. at Fletcher from 3 to 7 P.M. Sunday. Her funeral will take place from the funeral home Monday at 10 o'clock followed by a Funeral Mass at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH at 11 o'clock. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
