Josephine "Josie" DiRocco

Josephine 'Josie' DiRocco active in the Dracut community; 77 DRACUT Josephine "Josie" (Schiripo) DiRocco, beloved wife of Donato DiRocco of Dracut, and a member of a large Dracut family, died Saturday morning, September 27, 2008, at Radius Northwood HealthCare Center after an extended illness. She was a prominent and lifelong active member of the Dracut community. She was born April 21st, 1931, one of sixteen children born to the late John and Josephine (Sandelli) Schiripo. She graduated from Dracut High School in 1949, married in 1950, raised her family and resided in Dracut all of her life. She was retired from MIT Lincoln Labs and continued to work periodically and part time in electronic assembly at plants in Mass and NH. She also worked elections for the Town of Dracut as Clerk and then Warden of Precinct 5 for many years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and John Dyer; a daughter, Joyce Brac; and a son, Donato "Don" DiRocco and his fiancée, Linda Runyan, all of Dracut; three grandsons, Timothy, Justin and Marc; a sister, Rose Sarro of Dracut, a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy "Dottie" and Henry Potvin; a brother, Orlando "Andy" Schiripo; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Lillian Schiripo; a brother, John "Jr" Schiripo; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is also survived by two close and loving sisters-in-law, Edna Gorski and Sara Konomick. She was also the sister of the late Frank Schiripo, Mary Lenzi, Pasquale "Pat" Schiripo, Mabel Vito, Renaldo "Rennie" Schiripo, Fredimand "Fred" Schiripo, Violet "Vi" Desmarais, Anthony "Tony" Schiripo, and Margaret Morin. DiROCCO Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:45 AM followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 AM in St. Francis Church, Dracut. Interment in Oakland Cemetery Dracut.
