Virginia Antonelli Obituary

Virginia A. Antonelli taught at MinuteMan ARC in Concord; 77 ACTON Virginia A. (Canessa) Antonelli, 77, of Acton, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at her home. She was the beloved wife of 59 years of Arthur B. Antonelli. Born in Medford, and an Acton resident since the age of 10, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Inez (Smith) Canessa. The Antonellis were married on July 25, 1949, and settled in Acton to raise their family. Mrs. Antonelli loved her work as teacher of life living skills at the MinuteMan ARC in Concord from 1982 to her retirement in 1995. She was very devoted to her clients and their famlies, and was the recipient of awards recognizing her dedication. She also enjoyed spending her free time at yard sales. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Arthur B. Antonelli Jr., Mary C. Cohn, and John A. Antonelli; 5 grandchildren, Carla Coble, Arthur Antonelli III, Jonathan Antonelli, Ashley Antonelli and April Antonelli; a great-grandson who was her special joy, Brady Coble; three sisters, Lorraine Amer, Linda Loizer, and Patrina Towne; and two brothers, John F. Canessa Jr., and Peter Canessa, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was the sister of the late Frances Cain, Natalie Bowers, and Inez Gulizan. ANTONELLI of Acton, Oct. 1, 2008. All are invited to the funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington Street, Acton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Road, Acton Center. In accordance with Mrs. Antonelli's wishes, there are no visiting hours. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Antonelli's name to the MinuteMan ARC, 1269 Main Street, Concord, MA 01742.

I met Virginia through one of Arthurs doctors and I thought she was a wonderful lady. My best wishes go out to Arthur in this sad time. I know she must be upstairs looking down on all of us now with a smile on her face because she is not suffering anymore. Godspeed Virginia!
