I met Doug in 1999 on my daughter's 7th grade field trip to the NSK. After watching Doug speak with the children I asked what could I do? For the next 9 years I did food pick-ups and looked forward to hearing "Doug" stories about his trips, wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

A kinder man I never met and one I will always remember...

Rest in peace my friend and may God take care of your family during this difficult time.

To his family...Know that he loved each and everyone of you dearly.

You will all be in my prayers,

A Soup Kitchen friend

Dear Doug,

Your smile will be sorely missed by all at the Soup Kitchen! You were the bright spot who always had a nice thing to say about all and though I didn't know you well, you always made it a point to say hello and ask how I was doing. Smile down at us from Heaven!

Thank you Doug for being a friend for 27 years. I met you at the first tee of the Wang Golf League. We had worked prior to that at Pawtucket Wang. Just like you did with every new member you welcomed me. After that I looked forward to playing together with you and Tom Potter.
You guys were a joy to play and hang out with. I went through the years with 3 different partners but I let each of my new partners know about you guys...That is, these guys were about having fun and friendship.
I'll value every memory of playing with Doug. He was an Ace!!!

Though we never met Mirtha he
told me of his trips to Guatemala. He said he loved it there and spoke of the kids often.

He will be missed...
I'll miss you Doug

Sorry for your loss Mirtha

I am so sorry and heavy hearted to think that Doug is not here. For so long he was such an important role model to me. He never knew how much I admired him and wished I had a Dad like him. He worshipped his daughters, and when Corey came, it was like he found his newwest role, best Grandfather in the world. The loved that exuded from his sole was so deep. God must have need an EXTRA SPECIAL angel in heaven. Mirtha, SIlvia, and Linda I can't tell you how much this saddens me. He was one of the best men I have ever known EVER!

A special person who always had a smile on his face, and made it his goal to put a smile on others. Rich in life because of the joy he got in spending everyday being with his family. Family was first, second, and last in everything he did. The model for what a father and grandfather should be. You will be missed greatly by the people who's lives you touched.

As a son-in-law, I just hope to follow the example set.

Mirtha and Family,
I am so sad to hear about Doug's passing. We had dinner a few months ago, and he was filled with such joy, as always, when he told me so many stories and showed me pictures on your grandchildren. He took more pleasure in family than most men I know. His decidation to the people at the NSKS was endless. He will be in my heart and meditations.
