Susan Ponte Obituary

Susan G. 'Sue' Ponte
of Lowell, Chelmsford bank teller; 48
LOWELL - Susan G. "Sue" (Texeira) Ponte, 48, a
lifelong Lowell resident, died unexpectedly, October 30, 2008. She was the wife of John Ponte.
A daughter of the late John and the late Helen M. (Wyman) Texeira, she was born May 3, 1960, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools.
She made her home in the Belvidere Section of the City for the past 14 years, and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She worked for Eastern Bank, the former Massbank, in Chelmsford, as a teller.
Sue's favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. A beloved wife, proud mother, and doting grandmother, Sue
enjoyed when family and friends spent time together, and most of all, adored her granddaughter, Alyssa.
When she wasn't preparing that perfect meal or searching for that perfect gift to give, she enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods Casino.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by two sons, Keith J. Texeira of Lowell and Kyle M. Ponte of Lowell; her granddaughter, Alyssa Texeira of Lowell; her brothers and sisters, John Texeira and his wife, Mary (Cadeiro), of Tyngsboro, David Texeira and his wife, Penny, of Lowell, Patricia J. Dutily and her
husband, Stephen, of Lowell, Mary Lou Briand and her husband, Bruce, of Hudson, NH, Shirley L. Texeira of Lowell, and Carol A. Pereira of Lowell; two brothers in law, Manuel Sequeira and his wife, Cecilia, of Dracut and Jose Ponte and his wife, Maria, of Lowell, and
several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was also the sister of the Phyllis A. Texeira, the late Roland Texeira, and the late Judy A. Texeira,

To the family of Sue Ponte

I am at loss for words. I worked with Sue years ago at Bradlees. She took me under her wing. She helped me through some hard times and was there for me at any time of day. She was like that for anyone that needed her. That was a thing I can remember about her. She used to prank my phone at work, even though I was registers away just to see me smile. She made work fun. I enjoyed working with her and missed her when I left. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to her family. She will be missed.

Dear John, Keith and Kyle,

I can't tell you how shocked and sorry we were to hear about Sue. She was a wonderful person, and her whole life revolved around you. I didn't know about her becoming a grandmother, but I know that must have been such a happy experience for her.

We have great memories of happier times, especially of the cruise we took together in 1996.

We are thinking of all of you during this sad time, and I hope you know that we would be there with you if it were possible.

Sincerely,
Paul and Nancy Gennell

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
