Dorothy Sciuto Obituary

Dorothy Sciuto of Dracut; 83 Dracut Dorothy (Dorothea Sousa) Sciuto, 83, of Dracut, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at Lowell General Hospital after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Alfred and Lenora (Ramalho) Sousa of Lowell, and attended the Lowell Public Schools. During World War II, Dorothy was a supervisor at Suffolk Knitting Company in Lowell. During the 1970's, Dorothy managed several departments at Mammoth Mart and King's Department store in Lowell. She was married for thirty five years to the late Vincent Sciuto of Lawrence, who died in 1984. They resided in Lowell for nearly thirty years before they moved to Billerica with her two children where she made her home until the late 1990's. During the last ten years of her life, she resided with her daughter and son in law at their home in Dracut where she received constant loving care until her death. Throughout her lifetime, she was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Lowell. She is survived by her daughter, Doretta 'Dori' M. Cooper and her husband, Al, of Dracut; her son, David J. Sciuto and his wife, Mary, of Haverhill; grandchildren, Corey P. Sciuto of Lowell, and Bethany C. Sciuto of Tyngsborough; her brother, John R. Sousa of Victor, New York; and several nieces and nephews. SCIUTO You are invited to her Visitation 9 until 11 am on Thursday morning at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland St., Lowell (978 or 800) 458-6816.
