Rita Noel Obituary

Mrs. Rita M. Noel of Lowell, born in Ireland; 81 LOWELL Mrs. Rita M. Noel (McCavana), a resident of Lowell, died suddenly, Tuesday, November 11, 2008, in Lowell, aged 81 years. She was the wife of Roland J. Noel with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage. Born in Belfast, Ireland, on Sept. 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Magee) McCavana. Rita immigrated to the United States in 1949. She met her husband, Roland and they married. Mrs. Noel had been employed at both Honeywell and Raytheon. Rita's great love, was her family, spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, Roland, she is survived by four daughters, Linda M. and her husband, Stuart R. Sherman of Mason, NH, Jane A. Gagnon of Lowell, Kathleen C. Mullen of Brookline, NH, and Peggy A. and her husband, David Goldberg of Litchfield, NH; a son, Paul E. Noel and his wife, Renia H. of Lowell; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa Webster of the UK, Marie Wells of FL, and Anne Cusack of NY; two brothers, Sean McCavana and Patrick McCavana of Belfast, Ireland. NOEL Died in Lowell, Mrs. Rita M. (McCavana) Noel, November 11, 2008, a resident of Lowell and wife of Roland J. Noel. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Blvd. at Chester and Harvard Sts. on Sunday, from 3-7 PM. Friends who wish may make Memorial Contributions in her name to D'Youville Foundation, 981 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854. Funeral at the Funeral Home on Monday, at 8:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
