Harriet Lazarakis Obituary

Harriet J. Lazarakis, R.N. formerly of Pelham, was nurse; 82 BEDFORD, NH Harriet Jane (Sintros) Lazarakis, R.N., 82, of Bedford, NH and formerly of Pelham, passed away Wednesday afternoon, at the Arbors in Bedford, N.H. with her devoted daughter, Karen Salis at her side. She was the wife of the late Evangelos "Ange" Lazarakis, who died in September 1998 and whom she was married to for 49 years. Born February 5, 1926 in Dracut, MA, the daughter of the late James and the late Helen (Pappagianis) Sintros. She attended Bartlett Junior High School in Lowell, and graduated from Lowell High School. She went on to attend Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse at the age of nineteen. Before retiring, Mrs. Lazarakis worked as a Doctor's Office Nurse in the both the Chelmsford and Lowell areas. She was well loved and known to all as the "Candy Lady". Mrs. Lazarakis is survived by a daughter Karen Salis and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH; three grandsons Stephen Salis of New York City, Nicholas Salis of Fairfield, CT and Michael Salis of Nashua and Dudley, MA; a sister Effie Mandelos of Manchester, NH; a brother Charles Sintros and his wife Martha (Sawyer) Sintros of Lowell; a sister-in-law Cookie (Kostoulakos) Sintros of Franklin, MA; two sisters-in-law Irene (Lazarakis) Perris and husband George of Rocklin, CA and Mary (Lazarakis)Collins of Peabody, MA; two brothers-in-law Peter Lazarakis and his wife Helen of Brielle, NJ, and Milton Monoxelos of Pelham, NH and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also sister of the late Alexander Sintros; daughter-in-law of the late Helen (Apostolakes) Lazarakis; sister-in-law of the late George "Spike" Lazarakis, Ann (Lazarakis) Monoxelos, and Angelo Collins. LAZARAKIS In Bedford, NH, Nov. 12, 2008, at the Arbors, Harriet Jane (Sintros) Lazarakis, R.N., 82, of Bedford, NH and formerly of Pelham, wife of the late Evangelos "Ange" Lazarakis. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 3 to 7 P.M., Sunday. Her funeral will take place from the funeral home Monday morning at 10 o'clock followed by a Funeral service at the TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH at 11 o'clock. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery. Those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Fr.
