Winifred Notini Obituary

Winifred K. Notini was bookkeeper for family's Lowell business, active at St. Patrick's, and Girl Scouts; 95 LOWELL Winifred K. (McCready) Notini, 95, of Lowell, died Friday afternoon, at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford. She was the wife of the late John Albert Notini, a prominent Lowell businessman, who died in August of 1987. Born in Lowell, January 22, 1913, the daughter of the late James and the late Elizabeth (Burke) McCready. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of the Bartlett Junior High School and Lowell High School. While at Lowell High School, she was a member of the Girl Officers Regiment. Mrs. Notini was a lifelong communicant at St. Patrick Church and a member of the St. Patrick's Parish Women's Guild. Before retiring, she was a Bookkeeper at the Albert H. Notini and Sons in Lowell for many years. Previously, she was a Bookkeeper at the McLean Hospital in Belmont, and then at the Northampton State Hospital in Northampton, MA She was a Girl Scout/Brownie leader for many years. She loved animals. Mrs. Notini is survived by three nieces, Katherine Morman and her husband, Kenneth of Nashua, NH, Geraldine McCready Bellavance and her husband, Donald of Merrimack, NH and Burke Lynch and her husband, Leo of Belvidere, IL; three nephews, John Gallagher, Jr. and his wife, Lucille of Amherst, MA, James Gallagher and his wife, Mary Theresa of Chelmsford, and James McCready, Jr. and his wife, Pauline of Gloucester; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law Doris Notini of Lowell, and Anita and Paul Linehan, also of Lowell; as well as many nieces and nephews from the Notini family. She was the sister of the late William McCready, James McCready, Sr., Elizabth McCready Woodhead, Catherine McCready Beauregard and Annabelle McCready Gallagher; and the aunt of the late Patrick Gallagher, and Elizabeth McCready. NOTINI In Chelmsford, November 14, 2008, at Palm Manor, Winifred K. (McCready) Notini, 95, of Lowell, wife of the late John Albert Notini. At her request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at ST. PATRICK CHURCH on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions in her memory to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St. Lowell, MA 01854 or to St. Patrick Church, 282 Suffolk St. Lowell, MA 01854. I remember Winnie Notini from over 40 years ago when she was my Brownie troop leader. I only knew her for a very short time but she obviously made quite an impression on me for me to remember her all these years later. I also remember her driving a jeep and I thought that was so cool. My sympathies to your family.

Butch, Dave, and the rest of the Notini Family, My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I remember meeting your Mom a long time ago when I was working for you. She talked to me like she had known me for a long time, It was the first time we had ever met. She will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
