Luisa Rosa Obituary

Luisa Florinda Rosa enjoyed cooking; 95 Lowell Luisa Florinda (Amaral) Rosa, 95, of Lowell, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Jose Eduardo Rosa who died in 1988. A daughter of the late Manuel Pereira Amaral and the late Maria Augusta (Dasilva) Amaral, she was born November 25, 1912, in Faial, Azores, Portugal, and was educated in that area. She came to the United States in 1968, settling in Lowell in the Back Central Street area, where she was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She had worked as a polisher for Carroll Shoe. She enjoyed cooking and as a loving grandmother, cherished the times she took care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Manuel Eduino Rosa and his wife, Lucia, of Tewksbury, Maria Filomena Leal and her husband, Jose, of Pelham, NH, Jose Adriano Rosa and his wife, Fatima, of Faial, Azores, Antonio Rosa and his wife, Olivia, of Faial, Azores, and Maria Fatima Sousa of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Manuel Rosa and his wife, Maria, of Lowell, Dalila Sequeira and her husband, Steven, of Pelham, NH, Jose Rosa and his wife, Martinha, of Tewksbury, Gracinda Dutra and her husband, Joao, of Faial, Azores, Dario Leal and his wife, Amy, of Nashua, NH, Joseph Sousa and his wife, Ana, of Lowell, Delly Resendes and her husband, Carlos, of Lowell; eight great grandchildren, Scottie, Nicholas, Carson, Mikayla, Zachary, Sarina, Jacklyn, and Daniela; a brother, Manuel Pereira Amaral and his wife, Maria Alice, of Faial, Azores; a sister in law, Maria Amelia Rosa of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews and friends, especially those at Radius Northwood Nursing Home. She was also the mother of the late Jose Rosa and sister of the late Joao Pereira Amaral, the late Jose Pereira Amaral, and the late Maria Amaral and mother in law of the late Joaquim Alberto Sousa. ROSA You are invited to Her Calling Hours 4 until 8pm on Wednesday. On Thursday, Her Funreal will begin at 9am at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland St, Lowell (978 or 800) 458-6816.
