Alvin Lutkus Obituary

Alvin R. 'Junior' Lutkus Lowell, local paving co. worker, Army vet; 60 LOWELL Alvin R. "Junior" Lutkus, 60, of Lowell, died Tuesday morning in his home, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband for 27 years of Theresa P. (Belanger) (Friant) Lutkus of Lowell. Born in Lowell on July 4, 1948, he was a son of Phyllis (Greenhalge) Lutkus of Lowell and the late Alvin M. Lutkus He received his education in the Lowell school system. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War, from May 1966 until May 1970, as a Private First Class in the Army of the United States. Mr. Lutkus had been employed as a paver for many years by Ideal Paving of Dracut. He was a member of the American Legion Post 87 in Lowell. In his free time, Mr. Lutkus enjoyed handyman work around his home, and his passion was time spent in the company of his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Marlo Peak and her husband, Jarett of Lowell, Michelle Dubois and her husband, Christopher of Orlando, FL, Danielle Friant and her partner, Shawn Clougherty Sr., and Tracy Runyan and her husband, Mathew, all of Lowell; one son, Keith Friant and his wife, Melissa of Dracut; 11 grandchildren, Tanya, Shanice, Kiana, Callie, Cydney, Shawn Jr, Melody, Jared, Dylan, Chris and Leo; two sisters, Beverly Pare and her husband, Dennis and Tammy Coppola and her husband, Phillip, all of Lowell; four brothers, Ronald, Gary, Michael and Gerald Lutkus and his wife, Kristine, all of Lowell; three sisters-in-law, Joan Baldwin and her husband, Richard of Lowell, Sandra McCarthy and her husband, Donald of Derry, NH, and Donna Desruisseaux of Lowell; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends including his beloved niece, Amanda Desruisseaux and her partner, David Morrison and their son, Caleb. LUTKUS Funeral Services are entrusted to the care of DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. His Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 A.M. in St. Michael's Church in Lowell. Relatives and friends invited. Dear Terry and the Whole Lutkus Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Juniors Passing.. I was at church on sunday and noticed the mass was offered for him. He was a fun loving man, and loved singing the oldies. God Bless. I hope you will be okay.

Im not sure if you, have heard but my son died November 1, 2008. He fell of a building in Boston.

I am sooooo sorry..If had known, I would have paid my respects..
