Mrs. Catherine (Maguire) Allison of Lowell, active at St. Anne's; 99 LOWELL Mrs. Catherine (Maguire) Allison, a resident of Lowell, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008, age 99 years. She was the wife of the late William Allison, whom she married on Thanksgiving Day, November 29, 1935. Born in Dover, New Hampshire, September 9, 1909, the daughter of the late Harry and Ellen (Jones) Maguire. She received her education in the Lowell school system. Catherine became affiliated with the former Merrimack Manufacturing in Lowell, as a velvet cutter for many years, and went on to be a Nurse's aide at Tewksbury State Hospital, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She volunteered for many years with the Salvation Army, always willing to lend a helping hand, and also was a member of the Council of Aging, and a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employee Association. Mrs. Allison was a very active member of Saint Anne's Episcopal Church in Lowell. Mrs. Allison is survived by her loving daughter, Shirley Ryan and her husband, William of Lowell; four beloved grandchildren, Pamela Ryan Gendron and her husband, Raymond of Tyngsboro, William Ryan and his wife, Sandra of Townsend, Michael R. Ryan of Boston, and Jennifer Ryan Cluff and her husband, Dale of Lowell; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Gendron, Allison Gendron of Tyngsboro, William, Shawn and Alicia Ryan, all of Townsend, Katie Ryan of Dracut, and Abigail and Lillian Cluff of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Helen Maguire of Seabrook, NH. Also by several nieces and a nephew. She was the sister of the late Edith Jodoin, Harry Maguire, John Maguire. and Samuel Maguire. ALLISON Died, Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in Lowell, Mrs. Catherine (Maguire) Allison, a resident of Lowell, aged 99 years. She was the wife of the late William Allison. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Blvd. at Chester and Harvard Sts. on Sunday from 3-7 PM.
