Leo Elie Obituary

Leo J. Elie of Dracut, retired cook; 85 DRACUT Leo J. Elie, a Dracut resident, died Monday December 1, 2008, at a local nursing home. He was 85. He was born in Lowell on March 4, 1923, a son of the late John F. and Marie (Hebert) Elie. Prior to his retirement, Leo was employed as a cook at various local restaurants. In earlier years, he worked for his father at the former Golden Dairy. He was a communicant of the former Ste. Therese Church, and was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizen's Club. Survivors include his very dear friend, Doris M. Donnelly of Dracut; two sons, Joseph Marcel Elie of Largo, FL, Francis L. Elie of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and Leo Fitzgerald of Chelmsford; a brother, Ludger Elie of Lowell; a sister, Yvette Beaudry of Dracut; two grandchildren, Michelle Barry and John F. Elie II; two great-grandchildren, David and Madeline Elie; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Frederick Elie, Raymond Elie, Irene Ducharme, Henry Elie, Gerard Elie, Theresa Gagnon, and Arthur Elie. ELIE Leo J. It being his request, calling hours have been omitted. Committal prayers will be offered in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery on Saturday December 6, at 10:00 AM.
