Thomas Dewey Obituary

Thomas M. Dewey of Ashby, Leominster oil co. retiree, vet; 61 ASHBY Thomas M. Dewey, 61 of Ashby, died unexpectedly at his residence on Dec 3. He was born in Boston, on June 6, 1947, son of the late George and Louise (Cheverie) Dewey. He grew up in Hough's Neck, moved to Littleton in 1962, and graduated from Littleton High School, Class of 1966. Tom then joined the U.S. Coast Guard serving as a Fireman during Vietnam. He started farming for Robinson Farm in Littleton and then worked for Leahy Trucking for 20 years. Most recently, he worked as Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for Peterborough Oil Co, in Leominster for many years. Tom was married to Donna (Smith) Dewey in 1980, and they have made their home in Ayer until 1987, New Ipswich, NH, until 1993, and Ashby until the present. His passion was the water and sailing, He was also a member of the Teamsters Union, NRA, and was a member of the American License Plate Association where he collected license plates. His survivors include his wife, Donna (Smith) Dewey of Ashby; 5 children, Michelle Bergeron of Arlington, VA, Kathi Bray and her husband, Paul of Leominster, Jason S. Dewey and his companion, Kerry Bergeron of Ashby, Alden J. Dewey of Ashby, and Christine M. Dewey of Pepperell; 9 brothers and sisters, Annemarie Dewey of New Orleans, George W, "Billie" Dewey of Littleton, Marylou DeFilipo of Ayer, Joan Schwerin of Littleton, Kathleen McKinnon of Leominster, John Dewey of S. Africa, Richard Dewey of Fitchburg, Michael Dewey of Littleton, and Elaine (Sczylvian) LaMachia of Westford. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Bray. DEWEY Visiting Hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be Private. See www.badgerfuneral.com

Wow..so much has passed. I was able to buy our house back from the bank at 3%. We have 4 grandchildren..Oliver Thomas, William Martin, Chloe and Lucia....I'm still working, and have met a great guy Tim. I think of you often and miss you tons. As you once said to me "life goes on" is so true! You are going to be 70 this year, and I think you need a party!! Love you always.

Pretty sure this is the same Tom Dewey I served on the Pollock Lightship with in 1967-69~~if so I came home with him in 68? met his fine family & had a great time~~if the Tom I knew, he was a awesome guy~~wonderful smile & Irish humor! condolences to all~~so sorry~was tracking down shipmates~~would loved to have seen him once more

Hi Tom, I miss you soooo much! I know you don't like publicity, but the kids are putting together a fund raiser, and it should be a good time. They think of you all the time. Maybe after this event they can move on, and stop dwelling...I know you would llike that.

Wow, so much has gone on. We are Grandparents twice again. We have beautiful Oliver, 3 months old already. We also have our first Grandaughter Chloe, only 3 weeks old now. You know my friend, well he's doing his best to keep thinks going here, but it's a bit much for me now.

I am very sad to hear of Tom's passing. We spent
many hours talking about boats and boating
and I considered him a true friend. A great smile and a good attitude always
