Sophie Pacula Obituary

Sophie C. Pacula Lowell seamstress, Holy Trinity member; 93 LOWELL Sophie C. (Wojkowski) Pacula, 93 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Tuesday, October 2nd, at the Town and Country Nursing Center. She was the widow of Edward Pacula, who died in March of 1969. She was born in Lowell, on May 30, 1914, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Ustach) Wojkowski. She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Pacula had been employed as a Seamstress by Lemkin's in downtown Lowell for over 23 years. She was a communicant of the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, and a co-founder of the St. Stanislaus School Parent/Teacher Association. Her family fondly remembers her talent for sewing and love for shopping. She was happiest when spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law, Edward J. and Dolores Pacula of Ocala, FL; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and William Vezina of Lowell, with whom she resided, Priscilla and John O'Neill of Lowell, and Mary-Ann and Phillip Pitsios of Hudson, NH; 11 grandchildren, Diane Nickerson, Karen O'Neill, Edward Pacula, Jr., Kathryn Dame, William Vezina, Jr., Sean O'Neill, Peter Pacula, Edward Vezina, Sharon Carey, Derek Roy, and Michael O'Neill; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Connolly and Lottie McQuaid, both of Lowell; and Anne Trainor, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jane Myskowski, Pauline Bishop, Chester, Henry and John Wojkowski. PACULA, Sophie Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, October 5th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered on Saturday, October 6th at 10 AM at the HOLY TRINITY CHURCH. Burial in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
