PEPPERELL Timothy J. Lorden Sr., 85, of Pepperell, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2007, at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer. He left, as he lived,
surrounded by his loving family.
He will now be reunited with his beloved wife, Ida L. (LeBlanc) Lorden, who passed away in 1978 in the 28th year of their marriage.
Timothy was born in Pepperell, June 29, 1922, a son of the late Charles and Josephine (Gardner) Lorden, and was a lifelong Pepperell resident.
Timothy is survived by his four sons and their wives, Timothy J. and Dawn Lorden Jr., Gary and Heidi Lorden, all of Townsend, Michael and Gail Lorden of Westford, Ted and Christine Lorden of Dunstable; two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Paul Collette of Westminster, Pamela and Roy Medeiros of Townsend. Timothy was the dear brother of Raymond Lorden of Hollis, N.H., and Kay Hynes of Pepperell; and the cherished
grandfather of 15; and great-grandfather of 5.
He is the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three infant children, Deborah, Bradley and Jeffery; and his grandson, Michael J. Lorden II of Westford. He was also the
brother of the late John Lorden, Charles Lorden,
Richard Lorden and Norman Lorden, all of Pepperell, and Eileen Shaughnessy of Groton.
He was always proud of the business that he founded and grew with his father and brothers, Lorden Oil
Company. For over 60 years, Timothy was the President and co-owner of Lorden Oil Company based in the communities of Townsend, Pepperell, Ayer and Hollis, N.H. He was a leader in the Pepperell community.
In addition to his family far and wide, Timothy loved Dancing, his times in Florida, waterskiing, and being the "clerk of the works".
He will be missed by his children, the many people who call him their friend, his customers and the
community. In his younger days, he was active in all
local sports, playing for many Pepperell teams including the Green Wave basketball team. His children and grandchildren continue his love for basketball. He set an example for all through his strength and
determination, always making time to be there when you needed him the most.
During WWII, he proudly served his country in the
United States Army Air Corps.
He had attended St.Joseph's Church in Pepperell, and St. John's Church in Townsend.
His friends are invited to share his memories on Monday October 8th from 5-8 p.m. at the T.J.
