Robert Preston Obituary

Robert Y. Preston owned Pelham Fuel Co., Korean War vet; 74 PELHAM Robert York Preston, age 74, of Pelham, NH, died Wednesday evening, at his home. He was the husband of 28 years of Joan (Culwell) Preston. Born in Lowell, Feb. 24, 1933, the son of the late John Cutler Preston and the late Doris (York) Preston Farrow. He attended Fryeberg Academy in Fryeberg, Maine. A veteran of Korea, he served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Vogelgesang DD862. He received the National Defense Service Medal, and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post#100, both in Pelham. Mr. Preston was the owner of Pelham Fuel Company in Pelham. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Wendy Anne Preston and her companion, Henry Ladner of Litchfield, NH, Susan Beverly Preston and her companion, Steven Goldman of Litchfield, NH and Tamilyn Cooper and her husband, Craig of Hinesville, GA; two sons, Mark Robert Preston of Londonderry, NH, and Sgt. Charles Pickwell, currently serving in Iraq, and his wife, Heather of Fort Stewart, GA; three grandchildren, Zane, Zoe and Alexandra Pickwell of Fort Stewart, GA; a sister, Louise Preston of Utah; two nieces, Brenda Quinn of Manchester, NH, and Linda Green, M.D. of Utah; and a godson, William Argie of Londonderry, NH. Mr. Preston was also the grandfather of the late Kylie Elizabeth Cooper. PRESTON In Pelham, Oct. 17, 2007, at his home, Robert York Preston, 74, husband of Joan (Culwell) Preston. Friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 NASHUA RD, PELHAM, NH from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday. His Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 7 o'clock. Those wishing may make contributions to the Derry/Salem Home Healthcare & Hospice, 1 East Common Dr., Unit 31, Londonderry, NH 03053. Arrangements by Funeral Directors John W. Crane and James F.
