Rita Seavey Obituary

Rita C. Seavey of Dracut, was seamstress, avid reader; 93 DRACUT Rita C. (Lessard) Seavey, 93, a resident of Dracut, died Saturday, October 20th, at the Blaire House of Tewksbury. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Seavey, who died in 2001. She was born in Lowell, on Sept. 21, 1914, a daughter of the late William and Cecile (Poirier) Lessard. She received her education in Lowell schools, and received a certificate in design at Lowell Textile Institute. Mrs. Seavey was an excellent seamstress, and was employed for many years as a supervisor by the former Pleasant Dress Company in Lowell. Prior to that, she had worked in several area Dress mills. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, following politics, sewing and designing and making wedding dresses. She is survived by two sisters, Adeline Muller of Andover, and Mary Delaware and her husband, Warren of Dracut; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Charles F. Seavey Jr., and the sister of the late Roderick Lessard, Wilfred Lessard, Norman Lessard, Leo Lessard, and Jeannette McCarthy. SEAVEY Rita C. (Lessard), 93, Oct. 20. Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, on Tuesday from 10 until 11 A.M., followed by her Funeral Service at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. I was saddened to read of Rira's passing. She was like a 2nd mother to me. I still think of my best friend Charles. Those memories surface more frequestly as I age. I will inform my mom (Yvette), My love to Gerry & Shirley.

to the seavey family,sorry for your
loss.
i knew a lessard family when i was
8 yrs.old & lived om middlesex st.
in lowell.i remember jimmy lessard
that my brother hung out & the
lussiers were their neighbors as
well.the harrigns were a door
over as well.
my name was sue cordingley then,
my mom was lucille mercier she
worked at saba's.my dad was john
cordingley he passed in 1989.
i remembered the name lessard even
though it was many years ago.
keep the memories of her in your
heart they will be there.
