Charles J. Landry Sr. Hernando, Fla., formerly of Westford; 65 Hernando, Fla. Mr. Charles J. "Chuck" Landry, Sr., age 65, recently of Hernando, Florida, formerly of Westford, died on Saturday, October 27th, 2007 at his home following a long illness. For 42 years, he was the beloved husband of Dorothy Marie (Donovan) Landry. He was born in Winthrop, MA on July 5th, 1942, son of the late Charles Elmer Landry & Estelle Marie (Doherty) Landry. Chuck was raised in Revere, MA and was a Graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1960. He also proudly participated in the Boy Scouts and eventually became an Eagle Scout. Chuck also attended the Maine Maritime Academy and Graduated in 1964. After receiving his B.S. in Maritime Transportation, he served as a United States Naval Reserve Officer and a United States Merchant Marine Officer, attaining the rank of Chief Mate. Mr. Landry furthered his professional development serving on contract vessels of the International Organization of Masters Mates & Pilots (IOMM&P) and attending the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies throughout his career. Mr. Landry was a proud and loyal 43-year member of the (IOMM&P) serving the IOMM&P membership and the US Merchant Marine in various licensed positions and on multiple IOMM&P contract vessels. Chuck was appointed and then elected as the Port of Boston and New England IOMM&P Representative for 15 years. Additionally, Chuck was elected as an IOMM&P Delegate for over 20 years. In 1998 Mr. Landry retired from active sailing. According to the family, Chuck avidly volunteered to help his grandsons achieve Boy Scout Merit Badges in knot tying, whittling and shooting. He also enjoyed working on home projects and building tables and chairs. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, and also a former communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Westford. Besides his wife, he is survived by his beloved children and their spouses: Christine N. Landry Terrasi and her husband, Martin J. Terrasi of Iverness, FL; Charles J. Landry, Jr. and his wife, Maureen A. Jones Landry of Ayer, MA; Karen P. Landry of Nashua, NH; Peter D. Landry and his wife, Jennifer Zdon of Morrisville, NC; a brother, Robert Edmund Landry of Marblehead; a sister, Joan Theresa Landry Johnson of Bedford, MA; also four beloved grandchildren: Martin J. Terrasi, Patrick A. Terrasi, Tyler J. Landry, and Ryan W. Landry. Loved and respected, Chuck will be missed greatly by family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. He was also the Father of the late Meghan Leigh Landry, who died in 1986. LANDRY Charles J.
