Mary Gearin Obituary

Mary P. Gearin of Lowell, active at St. Michael Church; 82 LOWELL Mary Patricia (Laird) Gearin, 82, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday morning, November 28, 2007, at D'Youville Nursing Home, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was the wife of Charles A. "Mickey" Gearin, who died on May 5, 2007. Born in Lowell on Aug. 13, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Mary Ellen (Toohey) Laird. Mrs. Gearin was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church. In years past, she had volunteered for many Parish organizations including the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop, Bingo, and the C.C.D. program. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed yearly beach vacations with her family, and always looked forward to the holiday season. She also took great pride and joy spending time with her two grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Maryellen and Paul Fazio of Methuen, and Barbara Gearin of Lowell; two grandchildren, Justine and Eric Fazio of Methuen; a brother, Jack Laird and his wife, Lorraine of Dracut; a sister, Esther Degan and her husband, Daniel of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Helen Laird of Lowell; a brother-in-law, George H. Hadfield of Dracut; several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Anne E. Greene and her husband, Philip Greene, Dorothy F. Hadfield, and Leo R. "Bob" Laird. GEARIN died November 28, Mary Patricia (Laird) Gearin, 82, of Lowell. Cremation took place in the Linwood Crematory, Haverhill. Relatives and friends will be received at the McKENNA OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth St., from 8:30 until 9:30 AM on Monday morning. Her Memorial Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM in St. Michael Church.
